ABout me
I’m Amanda, nice to meet you! I’m so glad you’re here to let me tell you a little about myself. My background is in music. I’ve been singing for as long as I remember and my voice is my favorite companion. I’ve spent all my life investigating my voice, being curious about what it can do and how I can use it better. My journey with my voice has taken me in many directions, from singing opera and jazz to writing, producing and recording my own music. You can check it our here. I started practicing Yoga almost 20 years ago and quickly married my singing practice with my Yoga practice. Combining pranayama, asanas, and vocalizing was the catalyst to discovering the Pranavox Practice, which includes self-massage and massage along with breath work, movement, and vocal expression. These elements combined create the harmonizing balance needed to help tap into the strength of our voices.
Whether you are a professional singer, looking to improve your vocal projection, transitioning, or want to increase your confidence, the Pranavox Practice will help you trust your voice to support you in all the ways you want.
I graduated from Temple University in 2007 with a degree in Vocal Performance focusing in Opera. I completed my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2016 with Sarah Robinette. I graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts in 2021 and am thrilled to bring my new and growing knowledge of bodywork and massage into my spectrum of practices.
I approach my life, work and practices with curiosity, compassion and love. As a teacher and massage therapist, I do the same, always keeping a student mind-set. It is an honor to be on this journey with you!
Lastly and most importantly, I want to acknowledge that our voices are our body’s instrument and I believe the voice holds trauma like any other part of our bodies. My personal Pranavox practice developed out of processing my own trauma and how it related to my voice. Because of that, this practice is meant to honor where we are in our voices, by creating a safe, informed and compassionate practice for both of us. Thank you for trusting me to help empower your voice!
